OK, here it is! The respose to these was overwhelming! Thank you for that! They are quite simple, and I think I have documented the steps clearly. Please email me with any questions!

Here are the 3 tiny antibacterial soaps I bought at Bath and Body Works. They are 5 for $5.

1. Cut two pieces of CS, one 3" X 10" and one 6" X 1 1/2".

2. Score the big piece at 1", 2", 5 1/2", and 6 1/2".

3. Score the small piece along the long side at 1/2", 1 1/2", 4 1/2", and 5 1/2". Turn it and score along the short side at 1/4" and 1 1/4". Using a bone folder, fold over all the lines to make them nice and crisp.

4. Trim off the tabs shown in the picture above.

5. Using the medium oval punch, punch as close to the bottom line as possible.
**This is the only punch I could figur eout to use. If you come up with something better, please share!**

6. This oval is a tiny bit small for the soap bottle, so I then took the oval punch and punched another sliver up to the top line, just to make it a little bigger. It will be a little snug, but this will be perfect to keep the bottle in place!

You can see how it made the oval wider.

7. Back to the bigger piece! Fold it up as seen above.

8. Apply red sticky tape on the top, bottom and side tabs of the smaller piece.

9. It's hard to see in this picture, but your going to peal off the red covering only on the bottom tab. Attach it to the inside of the bottom lip of the big piece.

10. Fold in the side tabs and tape them down to the bottom side of the large piece.

11. Lastly, remove the last piece of red tape cover and adhere it to the back.

And there you have it! You can decorate the inside and out side in any way!

ReplyDeleteErica, thanks for sharing, I saw them when I was at work and went straight to the mall to pick some up so I could try them at home. Love them they are heading to my daughters unit in Afghanistan for halloween favors. I modified the stand the cover (3x10) piece I kept the same but the stand I cut 6 x 1 3/4. the score lines are the same for the stand but the score lines on the cover I scored at 1, 2 1/4, 5 1/2, 6 3/4. I was able to use the scallop punch for the hole. You just have to punch once, not alot of wiggle room though. Thanks again. I know the gals over there will get a kick out of them

Hi again,
ReplyDeleteI've just created a holder using your instructions and the Oval Punch really is a tight fit! I thought I was using the wrong Oval Punch at first, as in the UK Idea Book & Catalogue it's called "Oval Large" Punch, although it is a medium size compared to the other two punches we now have :)
I've now made another holder, tweaked your measurements so that I used a Scallop Oval Punch instead and it's worked! :D
I have changed the depth of the box from 1" to 1.5" to accomodate the Scallop Oval Punch. The cardstock measures 3" x 11.5" and scored the long piece at 1.5", 3", 6.5", 8.
I've yet to finalise how I did the smaller cardstock piece but can let you know when I have more time to figure what I did! lol.
Hope that helps.
