Sweet Cupcake Faux Icing Recipe

Hello everyone! Today, I want to show you this month's Stamp Club "3D" project. I had so much fun making these!

I teased this picture on Instagram and Facebook last week showing the cupcake from the Sweet Cupcake set. This is a three step stamp , which means there are three different images for both the top and the bottom. You stamp each one in a different color to give the image a more 3D look. The top layer is actually stamped in an icing mixture! Yes, that's right, a fake 3D icing mixture! (Check the bottom for the recipe!)

I chose to go with pinks and yellows. The top is Watermelon Wonder, Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride. The bottom is Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder.  Once al dry, I used a Wink of Stella brush on top.

Now, what's it attached to? One of our clear tiny treat boxes!  These boxes are about 2" square and are very easy to pop together. I found some mini cupcakes and my local grocery store that fit inside!

The box is covered in some of the Watermelon Wonder Envelope Paper and a Watermelon Wonder Striped Ribbon bow is wrapped around the box as well.

So to get that 3D icing look, you need to follow the following recipe and then carefully dip the top stamp in the icing and stamp it right on top of your cupcake.

Faux Icing
1/8 Cup Corn Starch
1 T Tombo Glue
1 T Acrylic Paint
1T water
10+ drops of ink refill (Watermelon Wonder)

The Jar of Love Class is a sweet gift class for anyone in your life you want to show your appreciation to. I designed some gifts to specifically be teacher gifts, but could also be any kind of fall themed gifts. Apples are great in the fall! Included are two cards, a gift box, a Hersey Nugget Holder, a shaker tag and jar wrap and a desk lantern/light gift box.
Full details, and the rest of my class schedule, can be found here.
