Cork, Wood and Mesh! {SSS #66}

So, I am a little bored with my supplies. Yea, I know, I have alot of stuff so my hubby says. But some times, I just want something new... So, for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, I decided to use some not so traditional materials! AND, I got a few samples of new colors coming out in July from SU. This card features two; Cajun Craze and Daffodile Delight!
The oval is wood that I ran through the Big Shot. Its paper thin and cuts beautifully! The cork is well, like a thin bulliten board, and the mesh is from Home Depot! Not sure what its used for... drywall or something like that... LOL!
Stamps: Baroque Motif, Rough Type
Ink and Paper: Staz On Black, Crazy Cajun (New this summer!), Daffodil Delight (New this summer!) Kraft , Chocolate Chip
Other: Cork, Mesh, Wood Sheets, Black Striped Grossgrain Ribbon, Big Shot, Vintage Tags, Beautiful Wings Embosslet, Distressing Tool
Need some stuff to inspire you? You can shop my Stampin Up websight day or night. And, you only have a few hours left to order from the Occasions Mini Catalog!
See ya tomorrow!

Curtain Call Color Challenge {Act 27}

Curtain Call Color Challenge is quickly becomming my favorite challenge. The colors are always something I love! Pink and green this week... ahh.. memories of my first appartment... LOL!
I had this idea for a kind of peek a boo card. The polka dot paper and monkeys are actualy on the inside of the card! It's kind of hard to see in this picture.

Are these monkey's not just perfect for peeking out though a circle?

This is what the card looks like open. You can see those things are on the inside!

Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts, Fox and Friends, Love Bugs (Hostess Set)
Ink and Paper: Melon Mambo, Melon Mambo DSP, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Other: Scallop Circle Punch , 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Jumbo Gromet, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow: Cork, Wood and Mesh!

So now I have to pass it on.. And I will... I just need to make a list from the 100s of ladies that inspire me..... But first I have to cook dinner, bath the little ladies, do homework, read bedtime storeis, etc, etc, etc....

Rock On!

One of my favorite blogs, Artistic Avenger, is having a little contest. And you know me, can't let a contest go by with out trying! But, this is a good one. It is for a free pass to a fun blog that has lots of ideas for using the Big Shot! I would LOVE to win!

Anyway, here is my attempt at her sketch:

My mom gave me this really cool roll of sheet metal that she found somewhere in the depths of her art room. She claims you can get it at the craft stores as well. So, I have been embossing it with the Big Shot (like here) as well as punching it. Its fun to play with! This card also features one of Stampin' Ups new colors called Early Espresso. It is part of the new Color Renovation (available in July.)
Love these little Vintage Tags that are in the new mini catalog. They are fun little embelishments!

And some more punched metal.
Stamps: Motorcycle, Rough Type, Just Jawing
Ink and Paper: Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White
Other: Old Olive Striped Grossgrain Ribbon, Distressing Tool, Vintage Tags, Ticket Corner Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, twine
I made two cards with this great sketch, so come back tomorrow to see it!

So Happy!

That's how I felt today! The weather was glorious! here in South texas, we don't get many of those days! I had the window open all day, we walked to the playground and pond and ate out on the patio at a Mexican Resteraunt, where we had a gift card! Does it get any better than that???

So, that was my theme when I made this card for the Inkspiration Color Challenge.
I love all of these colors! I drew inspiration from another card in the current issue of Scrapbooks, Etc. It's a good one this month!

I made the clouds by punching a scallop circle and using it as a mask. I used my sponge and dabed it around the edges with the Basful Blue ink. (I saw this online, and can't remember where!) I used the 1 1/4" square punch, folded it in half, then, as we say in Kindergarten, cut from corner to corner. Makes a perfect triangle every time!

And I just love these sentiments from the new set Go Graduate! Short and sassy!
Stamps: Go Graduate, Rough Type (both Available May 1 from Stampin' Up)
Ink and Paper: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Island Oasis DSP, Basic Black
Other: Polkadot Real Red Grossgrain Ribbon, Library Clip, Scallop Edge Border, Word Window Punch, 1 1/4' Square Punch, twine, pearls, Scallop Circle Punch, Stamping Sponge
If your interested in any of these supplies, you can order them directly from me by clicking on the link to the right!
Thanks for stopping by!

Keep It Simple Sweetie- PPA #39

TGIF!!! Today was a holiday here in San Antonio. Its "Battle of Flowers Day." It's part of our cit's big party called FIESTA!

This week's challenge at Paper Pal Arts is KISS (Keep It Simple Sweetie!) Yea right! My middle name is complicated! LOL! This stinking card took me forever! I think trying to keep it simple is harder than making it not simple! LOL!

Anyhow, I came up with something simple by my deffinition! I saw a bandaid similar to this in the current issue of Scrapbook's etc. and I knew I had to make one! So cute, isn't it?

I used lots of Stampin' Dimensionals to add dimension to my little bandaids!
Stamps: Wellness Wishes
Ink and Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Creamy Carmel
Other: 1 1/4" Square Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Large Oval Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Texture Folder, Big Shot, rope, Stamping Sponges
Have a great weekend!

cQc #29 and My Little Artist...

Hi everybody! Tonight I chose a challenge from Colour Q. I have never done one of their challenges successfully. I have a hard time incorperating so many colors together with out it looking crazy! But, I think I came up with something decent this week!
I changed the clors slightly becaus of supplies, but its still basically the same thing. I liked this combo alot. Feels kind of Fallish to me.
I did lots of distressing! Took me a while with all those tiny tickets! The is a free hostess set you can get if you host a workshop!

Stamps: Smarty Pants, Admit It
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Yo Yo Yellow, Green Galore, Bravo Burgandy
Paper: Whisper White, Sweet Pea DSP
Other: Spiral Edge Punch, 1 1/4" Black Striped Grossgrain Ribbon, rope, distressing tool, Stamping Sponges, Big Shot, Texturz Plate

And, I have to take a minute to honor my oldest daughter Ellie. She had several pieces in her school's art show this week, but this was my favorite. She was very proud of her self portrait as am I. Doesn't it look just like her??? Maybe she will follow in her Jamma's footsteps some day and be a professional artist!

Have a great day and to all my fellow San Antonions; Viva Fiesta!!!!

A Sketchy Blog Hop!

This month's Blog Hop is a Sketch Challenge. This sketch is by my favorite sketch artist Shanna at Shanna's Scrapy Sketches. She is also a fellow SU Demonstrator {Shout Out!} :-)

I chose some new paper I got at the LSS. Can't remember who its by... But, it was bright and cheery and exactly what I needed for my daughter's Kinder Graduation pictures!

I also included a few swap items that I received from my scrappy friends at ASP. The paperclip and title were both swap items!

I also took a picture of Ellie's cute little car and cut it out and put it on the page. I had a mom at school tell me thats how she keeps her daughter's artwork, rather than trying to store years and years of large art items. Smart! (Mom, calm down, I will still keep some art items! LOL!)
Now, hop on over to my fellow ASPer Jen to see what she came up with! She always has something good up her sleeve!
Come back tomorrow for my attemp at this week's Curtain Call Color Challenge!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #65

A new sketch over at The Sweetest Thing! It took me a while to figure out what I was going to do. I am feeling bored with my current selection of stamps... Guess I need to order MORE! LOL!
I know this sounds crazy, but I actually dreamed this color scheme up Saturday night! Kraft, Navy, Red and Yellow. I am in love with So Safron these days... I've never dreamed a color scheme before! LOL!

So it screamed somethi ng Americana. And I thought about when my hubby came home from Iraq, so hence the Welcome Home. You can see here how I used the new Smooch Spritz. Its coming May 1! Its a fun little ingredient to add some pop to your project.

And I made a little two dimensional star. I used some tiny glass beads and liquid glue.
Stamps: Just Jawing, Old Hostess Sentiment Set (I don't have the name)
Paper: Rose Red, Night of Navy, So Saffron, Kraft, Whisper White, DSP from Hostess Stack
Other: Mini Star Punch, Star Punch, Spiral Edge Punch, Stampin Dimensionals, glass beads, 1/2" Striped Grossgrain Ribbon
