Stamp Club- Box of Chocolates

Mama always said... Life is like a box of chocolates...LOL! Sorry, I couldn't resist! My favorite movie of all time!!

Anyhoo...This is a projecet we made last month at stamp club. Its made usinf the Matchbox die and the beautiful DSP called Sweet and Sour Specialty. It's Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red. Not two colors I would have ever put together, but wow does it work!

I also used the new set (when are they no longer new??) called Printed Petals. It's a very versitlie set that I know will become a standard I fall back on a lot.
I wrapped the little Nestle Nuggets in little strips of DSO just to give it that extra little fun...

Make sure you check back Thursday. I have something fun to announce and a little blog candy to boot! See you then!

My Sunday Best

Sweet Sunday Sketch and The Curtain Call Color Challenge were being entertained on my scrap table last night while I watched the Emmys. For some reason this card took me forever... Uhg! I loose interest quickly, and this one just drug on! It might have been that I was distacted by Jimmy Fallon. I think he is hilarious!!

I substituted buttons for flowers. After I did that ribbon, I just couldn't get flowers to work! But, the buttons work well, I think!

The ribbon was done by loosly running a thread and needle through the ribbon and then pulling it tight. I used red sticky tape to adhere it.
Stamps:Occasional Quotes
Ink and Paper: Presto Patterns DSP, Concord Crush, Crumb Cake, Whisper White Craft Ink
Other: Concord Crush Ribbon, Nestabilities, Big Shot, Designer Buttons, thread, Modern Label Punch, Basic Pearls

4 Squares

I love squares. I love using my square punch! So, this design comes around in various versions and I get excited every time! This cute little sketch is from Mojo Monday and the colors were inspired by Embelish Magazine.

I used the 1 3/4" circle to create background. I used Wild Wasabi on Very Vanilla. And, my favorite ribbon in Rich Razzleberry. The stamps are from Cute By the Inch and are stamped in rich Razzleberry.
I have a little secret... Well, two actually.....But I'can't share for a while... Stay tuned!!
Have a great Monday!

Sunday Apple Blosom (PPA and CTD)

Have you checked out Paper Pal Arts lately? They have a pretty new look. Check them out! I used their sketch this week and the pretty colors form The Color Throwdown.

I stamped the SO Saffron with the background image from Apple Blossom. I colored in a few random circles and then colored them in with Vera MArk and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I embossed the center Rose Red image too. You just can't tell in the picture...LOL!

Drive By Post...

This has been the week from...well, you know... Its the first week back to school. this is my 13th year, and I know to expect the normal exhaustion. However, teaching a new grade level for the first time in 8 years, I'm complelty drowning! I feel like a first year teacher all over again. SO, needless to say, I have not stepped foot in my scrap room since Sunday. Luckily, I did this card Sunday night!

I combine three challenges:

I love red, yellow and blue. It's the colors of my house! And, I can not resist gingham! That DSP is part of the Build A Bear pack called Pawsitivly Prints II.

Wave Your {Stamp} Flag!

I love this picture from The Play Date Cafe. I love the colors, but I really love the little flags and had to reproduce them on my card.

And, I used this sketch from Stampin' Stress Away.

I can't get enough of this stamp from the set called Party This Way. Pennants are the it thing right now! I used them as a flag. I grabbed a skewer out of my junk drawer in the kitchen, cut it with my scissors (gasp!, not my good ones!!) and used some glue dots. It's pretty cute if I do say so myself!! LOL!
It has lot's of dimension!

Stamps: Party This Way, Every Little Bit

Ink and Paper: Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery (DSP), Temting Turquoise

Other: Twill Tape, Basic Pearls, stampin Dimensionals, Modern Label Punch, glue dots, thread

More Cherry Cobbler

Have you checked out Stampin Celebration? They have really unique inspiration challenges. Give them a try, they are great! I expecially loved the colors in this week's challege.

I used this pretty simple sketch from Card Patterns. It can be adapted in so many ways.

I layered Early Espresso cut using the Lattice die right on top of another piece of Early Espresso. I like this embossed look it gives.

Student Gifts

Edited update Aug 2012- Hello Pinterest Readers! This post is two years old, but has been revived thanks to Pinterest. I do not have any kind of "editable template." it was simply typed in a word document and printed on my home printer. I used a Dj inkers font, not even sure what it was called. Also, I punched them out with a tag punch, which you can order from me using the link at the bottom of this post! Thanks!

I wanted to make my kids a little something to welcome them back to school this year. I found some glow sicks and immedietly thought "We're going to have a bright year!"

I made a quick sleeve for them (2" X 11", folded at 2.5"), stapled them and stuck the glow sticks right in!

I embellished them just a little, because honestly, they are just going to throw all of that away after they get their glow stick! LOL!

Hope they like them! :-)

Crayon Box Thank You

Another School themed card today! I used the crayon's from the picture at Stampin Celebration Inspiration Challenge and the sketch from the OCC blog.

I made the crayon box punch art by using the Word Window and Slot Punch. The crayon box is the scallop envelop die. I had the crayons pointy, but they looked like pencil, so I made them blunch like most of my crayons look anyway!
Stamps: Curly Cute
Ink and Paper: Daffodile Delight DSP, Pacific Point DSP, Concord Crush, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Daffodile Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Whisper White
Other: Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Die, Word Window Punch, Slot Punch, Corner Punch, RR Buttons, Twine, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals

The Wheels on the Bus...

It's that time of year! As you read this, I am probably preparing lesson plans, taping name tags, and organizing zillions of books! So, this card is a tribute to all of us teachers who are ragged this time of the year! (And think, its only beggining!)

I was able to combine three challenges today! Just Add Ink is honoring the Helping Hudson charity and challenged us all to use wheels on our card!

The Diva's provided me with the sketch and Creating with Connie and Mary provided the theme: BACK TO SCHOOL!

First, I tried to give my background a muddy appreance. I used stamps from Extreme Elemnts for this. Second, I had to add a little road for that diagnol strip! And, of course, lost of little busses that my friends will be arriving on! Hopefully, they won't get muddy on their way to my sparkly clean classroom!! LOL! It won't stay that way for long....

Stamps: Every Little Bit, Extreme Elements, Family Phrases

Ink and Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White, So Saffron,

Other: Whisper White Grossgrain Ribbon, black buttons, red twine, stampin write markers, silver gel pen, distreeing tool

And for those of you out there with little ones going to school soon, remember one thing! A teacher appreciates no gift more that a hand written thank you note! It means the world to a teacher to hear how she is effecting a child! Don't forget to tell your teachers how you feel! :-)

These may be my very favorite colors right now, melon Mambo, Temting Turqoise (for sure) and Delightful Daffodile. I normally go for So Saffron, but this bright sunny yellow is really making many repeat performances on my desk lately!! ;-) The colors today come from Paper Pal Arts.

And, a great sketch from Mojo Monday!

This is a fun and cheery birthday card. I adore this set! I stamped the balloons twice. One on the main piece of WW and another on a scrap piece and then I cut those out and used dimensionals to pop them off the 1st images. Gives it some dimension!

Stamps: Party This Way

Ink and Paper: Island Oasis DSP, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodile Delight, Whisper White,

Other: Daffodile Delight Striped Grossgrain Ribbon, DD Buttons, twine, Stampin Write Marker (basic black), Stampin Dimensionals

So, I needed 6 pennants for the word Thanks, and they didnt fit so well on my 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card, so I decided to "paper outside the lines" and just put it in a larger envelope! Ha!
