It's been a very productive day!

I received an award from one of my very favorite blogs, Paper Pal Arts. Best Dressed of 2010. Wowzers! Thanks PPA Team. I am honored to say the least!

Yesterday, Hubby and I decided to paint the palyroom. It's a discusting place where my children do things I don't even want to know about. If boys are grosser/messier than girls, I could not even imagine! These girls are slobs!

So, anyway, "painting" snowballed into many other things. One being the "Gallery Wall." I've been wanting a special place to show my kids artwork for a while. I am raising a house full of artist and their art work is piling up! Luckily, I had all these things around the house. Hubby put up the trim and I applied the "Create" Decor Element I had originally ordered for my office, but has sat in the corner for 6 months. It was perfect for this wall!

That's their new art space below the wall!

The ribbon is, of course, my favorite ribbon ever! SU's 1 1/4" Grossgrain Night of Navy and Marina Mist.

The other wall has these cute polkadots. A sunday school room at our church has big polka dots and I've always wanted to do them! I gathered several lamp shades from around the house and traced them right on the wall. I hand painted them in . The colors are, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Marina Mist... OK, not really, but that was what I wanted them to be! LOL! This quote is from a local craft store.

So, this makes post # 3 for me today! See what happens when I am not working! I get lots of fun stuff done!

It's good to have Friends...

I have a sweet boy in my class who mailed me an apology note right after the winter break began. The last day of school was filled with chaos as you can imagine, and he had an unusually bad day. So, he mailed me a very sweet apology note.

I knew I had to write him back! I wanted to acknowledge his apology but also give him the thrill of receiving something in the mail! Now, when your 7, you can't really appreciate a handmade card, but I made him one anyway! LOL! It's hard making a card for a 7 year old boy!

There he is again! I can't get enough of this owl! He is part of one of the Sale A Bration Sets that is FREE!!!!!
Stamps: Punch Pals, Smarty Pants
Ink and Paper: Real Red, Tempting Turquise, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Play Date DSP
Other: Big Shot, Nestabilities, Decrotive Label Punch, twine, Stampin Markers, Designer Buttons, Two Step Bird Punch

I used this sketch from the always fun Card Patterns.

This card features a new stamp from a Sale A Bration set. Do you know about Sale A Bration?? It's the best time all year to be a SU fan! For every $50 you spend, you get to choose a FREE stamp! Yes, thats right...FREE!! And, this cute little owl guy is part of a new set you can choose called Punch Punch. It coordinates with the Two Step Owl Punch!

My inspirations colors came from this week's Color Q!
We had a little bit of drama on Christmas Eve... While jumping on her old crib matress that was on the floor (we had JUST gotten her real bed the day before!), there was a "collision" of sorts involving #2 and #3. The result was #3 biting all the way through her lower lip. It was really bad.... But fortunatly, I have a wonderful mom in my class who is a pedi and I called her for some advice. She saved us from spending Christmas Eve in the ER!

But, as you can see, Christmas Eve was still wonderful. The anticipation was almost painful! They just couldn't WAIT!

And, Santa was worth the wait! He was very good to them this year!

Don't forget as you look forward that I have a fabulous Valentines Project Planner available!

And coming in January... a special Sale A Bration Class... Stay tuned! It's the best group of projects I've ever made... well, at least I think so!! ;-)

Stationary Tin

I have a wonderful mom at school that comes once a week and does what ever I need. And, she does beautiful work when I ask her to create something for me! I wanted to make a special gift for to let her know how much I appreciate her.

I found this cute tin at a garge sale that had been a smores gift set. It was purfect to repurpose in my craft room! I didn't need to spray it because it was already red! You could use any old lunch box type tin or purchase one from a local craft store. I used paper from the Love Letter DSP Set (117162). I covered the front and back with the polkadot pieces. I used coordinating paper from the same set to make the simple holiday cards. The tags and cards were made using Tags Till Christmas Stamp Set (120847/121169) and Real Red ink (103133). The 3 X3 cards also use a tag from the same stamp set but I used Old Olive (100079) and Early Espresso (119670) Stampin' Write Markers for these. I thought this idea would make a nice gift for a friend or coworker. You could even personalize it with a monogram on each card and tag.

I am officially on Christmas Break. All I want to do is lock myself in my craft room. Think my kids will allow that?? Ha.. yea right...
See ya tomorrow!
