Birthday Busyness

My middle daughter turns 4 this week and I have been super busy preparing for her party! I went with a pink and purple polka dot theme! I created her invitation on My Digital Studio. Her party favors are gumballs (also polka dots!) in these tiny paint cans I found at my local craft store. I used the banner from It's A Party and the tiny sentiment from Tiny Tags. I punched paper from Concord Crush DSP. Ribbon is also form my local craft store.

It comes with this little washer to pry open the lid. It took me a little while to figure that out!

I've also made a banner and some cupcake toppers but have yet to take a picture! Thanks for stopping by today!

Don't forget Sale A Bration ends Thursday!

Scrapbook Saturday!! {And a few reminders}

Good morning all! Sorry I am little last posting this morning (Jessica! ;-). We are having an open house today and I have cleaned like I've never cleaned before! Whew!

But, this morning I again am showing a sketch from Sketchy Thursday. This sketch will make a repeat appearance in the future here I am sure. Its perfect!

My camera washed out the back ground, but the purple matches her bathing suit perfectly! The journaling talks about how being a third child makes you care free and fearless. She will wander off with out a care in the world, unlike my other two complete scardy cats!

I loved her little bathing suit last summer! I mimicked the design by using the Big Shot and Fun Flowers Die. I ran them through again sandwiched in the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder. I did that last week with my butterflies and loved it! I think the thing that makes embossed images pop is to go back with a sponge and the same color ink. It just really brings the colors to life.

So, don't forget about my fun Simply Adorned Class coming up on April 15. Purchase the supplies, and the class, including a card and gift box, is free! Have fun and be done with your Mother's Day present! See the tab at the top that says Latest Class for all the details.

And, don't forget about Early Bird registration for U Stamp with Dawn. These projects will blow you out of the water!

And, only 5 more days to take advantage of Sale A Bration! Man, I feel sick just saying that! So many of my friends have gotten so many wonderful free products during SAB. Make sure you don't miss out!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Stampin' Celebration 45

It's always a party at Stampin' Celebration! This week's challenge is a very classy and sophisticated party!

But, when I went to make my card, I was feeling very sad. I had just learned that a good friend had lost her mom to cancer, so it was hard to be in a festive mood. So, my card is a sympathy card for her...

I stamped the flowers in Basic Black. I then went back with my Stampin Write Crumb Cake marker and colored them in. Last, I ran the whole thing through the Big Shot using the embossing folder.

Stamps: Awash With Flowers, Word Play

Ink and paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake

Other: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Swirls Scribble emosslet

So give it a go and make sure to come back to SCIC and show us what you've done!

Create With Connie and Mary #143- A Sketch

Hi everybody!

It's Thursday, so that means double post day for me! First, I have a fabulous challenge from Create With Connie and Mary. Its a fun sketch!

I kind of went outside the box with this one. Hope you can see my thinking.. ;-)

I started out by using my Stampin' Sponges and a punched scallop. I went around my Whisper White cardstock using the scallop kind of like a stencil. I punched the edges out of the Presto Patterns DSP and then inked them with the sponges. If you have not used this paper before, it comes embossed already so that when you ink it, the embossed design resists the ink. its so much fun!

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink and paper: Presto Patterns DSP, Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist

Other: Large and Small Oval Punches, Word Window Punch, Basic Pearls, Daffodil Delight Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Sponges

So give the sketch a try! I can't wait to see what you come up with! Make sure to hop back over to CCMC and link up your project!

I loved this card untill...

Scroll Down For New Class Announcment!

Hi all! Did you survive Monday? I did...kinda!
I love the colors at Color Throwdown. More Mustard and Elegant Eggplant are awesome together!

So, I loved this card alot. And the very last step involved liquid adhesive...

In this photo, I have the shadow just at the right spot.....

So you can focus on the colors and the distressing... and not the....

HUGE blob of Crystal Effects. Note to self: When bottle is clogged, don't force it right over your artwork. Sigh.... Anyway, its still cute I guess as long as you keep it in the shadows!

Stamps: Fine Flourish, Thank You Kindly, Music Notes Wheel
Ink and Paper: More Mustard, Early Espresso
Other: Rich Razzlberry Taffeta Ribbon, Designer Buttons, Big Shot, Lots of Tags Sizzlet, thread, razor, Dimensionals

Sunday Funday

Not! I have the Sunday Blues today... After 10 days off, I have to go back to work tomorrow. Boo! But, I am so lucky to have spent many many hours in my scrap room over the last 10 days. So, this week, i have lots to show you!

Starting today, I made a card using the awesome colors from the Play Date Cafe and the fabulous sketch from Paper Pal Arts.

I pulled out the sewing machine from Sew Suite. I love this stamp! I hope it finds a permanent place in next years catty. I stamped the sewing machine on the Whisper White. It was easy to align since it is clear mounted. Then, I stamped them on the DSP (or pattern paper.) I cut them out and layered them on the WW. You can see things that would be to hard to cut out, like the bobbin and the needle, show through from what was stamped on the WW. This is called paper piecing and is a fun way to jazz up an image.
Stamps: Sew Suite, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink and paper: Cherry Cobbler, Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard, all those colors DSp from Regal Stack, Whisper White
Other: Eyelet Border Punch, Crimper, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Designer Button, thread
I have a new class planned for April. I will post details later this week, so stay tuned! Have a Marvelous Monday (ha-ha!) ;-)

I'm so excited about today's page! I have spent my entire Spring Break in my "Bat Cave" as my hubby calls it! Lots of things made, some of which will have to wait for a while. But, I LOVE this page and am excited to show it off!

I love rainbow order. Seriously, its kinda becoming my calling card. So, I went to it again for this sweet b/w pics of my youngest.

These butterflies stick up a lot. Not sure how this page would fit in an album. Better put it in a frame instead..LOL! I cut out the butterflies, ran them through the Big Shot using an embossing folder and then inked them heavily.

I layered them over punched 2 1/2" circles and then put some buttons and ribbon on top! So bright and fun!

The Details- Using the Circle Scissors Plus

It looks like its from outer space! But, its not. It's a fabulous tool for cutting a perfect circle and any size up to 6"Its called the Circle Scissors Plus, and it is probably Stampin' Ups most neglected tool in my office! It can be a little temperamental at first, but once I discovered the trick of using re positional adhesive on my paper, it works like a dream! And, so for this week's sketch at Sweet Sunday Sketch, I put it to work!

I also was inspired by the cool colors at CR84FN!

I've had a request for masculine cards, so I hope today's card qualifies! I handed it to my hubby and said "Here, I made a card for you! When your done looking at it can I have it back... " Ha! :-)

Stamps: Three Little Words, Notes and Details
Ink and Paper: Basic Gray DSP and Classic Ink, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Blueberry Crisp DSP
Other: Circle Scissors Plus, Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Medium Oval Punch
